Here for You, Here for Our Community

You know that feeling you experience when you walk into a small local business? Not only do you feel as if you are contributing to your community, but you may also treasure the uniqueness of the experience. The same thing can be true when you visit an independently owned dental practice in Newark instead of an office that is part of some big corporate chain! Here at White Clay Dental, we are proud to be such a practice. Yes, we reject corporate ownership and continue to prioritize you, our precious patients!

We Value the Local

Local businesses are vital to the communities they operate in. Because we recognize that fact, Drs. Ganfield and Bond are a proud members of the Independent Dental Society of Delaware.

This remarkable organization is fairly new; it was formed in 2024 with an admirable mission: “to educate the public, the dental community, and our employees about why doctor-owned dental practices have the best outcomes for everyone!”

They seek to spread their message throughout Delaware and eventually extend their efforts into nearby regions, such as Maryland and New Jersey. To reach their goals, they work alongside the Alliance of Independent Dentists, a national organization that holds similar values.

Corporations Put Profits Over Patients

Meeting room in large corporate office

If you have ever visited a dental office that was part of a corporate chain, what do you remember about the experience? Did you feel that you were rushed into and out of your appointment? Did you feel pressured to consent to treatment before you had a chance to even think about getting a second opinion? Did you feel more like a paycheck than a patient?

Sadly, that experience is all too common. It happens because large corporations often take a cold, 100% business approach to dentistry; they forget about the human factor! The dentists who work for them may be expected to see a certain number of patients each day and recommend high-profit treatments just to meet financial goals. This approach leads to overtreatment and is not what is best for patients.
